In this interview Diana talks about her creative PA business, blogging, why she started her business, shares advice on how you can start your own online business and everything in between.
Tell us about yourself?
My name is Diana Siame Mwambo. I’m a blogger, a creative virtual assistant, and a wife to a supportive man. I love all things digital. I like to say that if I could do everything from the comfort of my home, I would. When I’m not on my laptop, I’m most likely watching TV, reading, or chatting on the phone.
Tell us about your Creative PA Business?
I help female bloggers, business owners, and virtual assistants looking to outsource with content creation and design. I just love it when my clients are satisfied.
What prompted you to start your own business?
Honestly, job hunting for several years with no positive result got to me. Let’s face it, no one wants to be broke. I started an online store for women’s clothing and ended up putting it on hold because I couldn’t find a payment gateway. I then started a blog to help bloggers and online business owners discover online tools for business and also help aspiring bloggers realize that they don’t have to be tech-savvy to start a blog or online business. Then one day I received a message saying ‘I need help with an eBook design. What are your rates?’ That’s how my business was born.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to start their own online business?
You don’t need another course to get started. You already know enough to start. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect.
What message do you want to share with the world?
Whatever you want to do, go for it. People around you might not understand your dream but eventually, they will and you will be glad you went for it.
What is your take on females supporting females?
I love to see women supporting women. Women are powerful. When women support women, a move happens and a lot of lives are impacted positively.
What motivates you to share your story?
The fact that nothing inspires someone more than a story that they can relate to. Knowing that there’s someone out there thinking about getting started but believe they don’t know enough to start. I like to say – stop procrastinating and make it happen. I studied Metallurgy and Mineral Processing and believed that was all I could do until I picked up my diary and wrote down something that looked like a blog post.
Go for it girl. You know enough to start
