2019 has been a year of great challenges, accomplishments, and a year of dreams becoming a reality. I took a moment out of my day the other day and decided to reflect on the year that has passed and everything that has happened. While I was doing this I started to feel extremely excited for 2020 and the possibilities that 2020 will bring with it.
All I could think about was if 2019 was all about making dreams a reality then what is 2020 going to bring?
While reflecting I started thinking about dreams and goals. Especially those dreams and goals we feel are too big to achieve or too hard to accomplish. One of my biggest dreams was to go to New York City. This has been a dream of mine since I was 16 and it came true this year. Going to New York City was a dream I never thought would be possible for me. I always thought it was too big and too expensive. I always told myself that it was too big and too hard to accomplish. But with hard work, loads of saving and sacrificing my husband and I set off to New York City in August 2019. This made me realize that no goal or dream is ever too big. It’s never too expensive. Yes, some goals may be bigger and slightly harder to achieve than others but that doesn’t make them impossible. If anything that should make you want to achieve them even more because it will be even more rewarding at the end.
Before I decided that New York City was going to happen in 2019 I would come up with every excuse in the book as to why I would never be able to make it to New York. How many of us do this? Why do we do this? If anything we should be thinking of every reason as to why we CAN achieve them. We are so accustomed to planting seeds of doubt in our minds that we make our goals and dreams impossible for ourselves. This is something that we need to stop. The time we spend thinking of every excuse in the book as to why we shouldn’t start working towards that goal or dream could be spent creating a game plan and coming up with ways to reach that goal or dream.
So, before we head into 2020 I want you to think about your goals for the new year. I want you to think about your biggest goal. Your ultimate goal. The one goal or dream that you feel is completely impossible and unattainable. Now I want you to believe in yourself for a moment. I want you to believe in your ability to achieve this goal no matter how long it takes or how much work it takes. I want you to close your eyes and imagine that dream coming true. Feel it. Now work towards that.
Believing that you can achieve a goal or dream is the first step towards reaching that goal or dream but believing that you can only get you so far. Manifestation only gets you so far. Hard work is the next step. Create a plan for that goal and wake up every morning with that goal in mind. These goals are attainable if you believe in yourself and work hard at it every single day.
Why not start now? You can start working towards your goal at any time. You don’t need to wait for a New Year, a Monday, or when you feel ready because you will never feel 100% ready and that’s ok but I still want you to start. Sometimes you just have to close your eyes and start. If you start now you are giving yourself a head start. Give yourself the upper hand. Start now and get closer to that goal.
So, since we are heading into the end of 2019, now is a brilliant time to take some time to reflect on 2019 and create a game plan for 2020 and those goals and dreams you want to achieve. I want you to achieve your biggest goal and dream in 2020. I want you to work towards the goal you are most scared of. The goal that you constantly doubt yourself about. That is the goal I want you to focus on in 2020. It could take you 6 months to achieve, or a year or longer but if you create that game plan now and start planning now, your already one step closer to making it a reality.
Here’s to an amazing 2020 and making our goals and dreams a reality.
